4-H Contests

4-H offers an informational or persuasive speech contest each year for 4th-12th graders. Information is available around October each year. Students take part in local contest. The county level contest is held in January/February each year. High School members compete in February each year. Contact us for details.

4-H offers a Poster Art contest each year for K-12th graders each year. Information is usually available in November with deadlines for submission in mid-January. Contact us for contest details.


4-H offers several decorated pumpkin contests each year. One is a photo submission in November. Others are entered in the local fairs. Information is usually available in October and June for these events. Contact us for details.

4-H members may enter a demonstration (4th-5th grades) or exhibit (6-12 grades) at our spring achievement event. Information is usually available in January. Contests are held at the local level in February. County and Region Contests take place in March and April. Exhibits can be showcased across the county and at fairs year round. 4-H members can build a piggy bank for the Piggy Bank pageant and local fairs. Information is usually available in the spring. Contact us for details.

4-H members can enter baked goods in local, county and regional fairs. We also hold the Hawkins County 4-H Bread Baking contests in February, March, and April. Information is usually available in February. Contact us for details.
