Family and Consumer Science

The Family and Consumer Science program provides families with educational information in Food and Nutrition, Parenting, Food Safety and Preservation, Family Economics, Housing and Family and Community Education Clubs.
CoParenting Educational Seminars, which are for divorcing parents with minor children are offered monthly in Hawkins County. Pre-registration is recommended. Fee is $25 if registering prior to the class or $35 at the door. Spouses may not attend classes together. Registration information may be obtained by calling the Agricultlural Extension Office.
The Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) provides information about foods and nutrition to food stamp eligible families.
Family and Community Education Clubs meet monthly in 8 communities throughout the county. Programming focuses on educational information to help families and individuals gain knowledge about food and nutrition, health, economics, food safety, and many other timely topics. Clubs conduct service projects in their communities.
